Utility Aid is an organisation that see an enormous importance in voluntary work and fundraising. We know how valuable time is to charities and within our local communities and as such all staff members that work at Utility Aid are entitled to two days paid leave per year to volunteer. There is real joy gained from giving back to those organisations that need it most and working as a team to do this is even better!

We know how valuable time is to charities and within our local communities, therefore all staff members that work at Utility Aid are entitled to two days paid leave per year to volunteer.

Utility Aid buys and sells energy in the charity sector, it is an amazing space to operate in because every single day, we help charities save money. We also offer bill validation to our customers which means that we can claim back overcharges found through this process, enabling our customers to spend their money where it is needed most.

Sasha Oliver is the Customer Care and Communications Manager and organises all voluntary and fundraising work within our organisation. When asked about why volunteering and giving back to charities is important to her she said; “Giving back to those that really need it is important to everyone at Utility Aid; we share the same passion and volunteering and giving back to charities is part of our DNA. We thoroughly enjoy the voluntary work that we do and it is great to do something as part of a team.”

Recently we have participated in a number of volunteering events;

  • We gave out presents at Birmingham Children’s hospital over Christmas.
  • We gave our time at a Christmas show for National Autistic Society.
  • We volunteered at Ronald McDonald House in Glasgow; deep cleaning, gardening and putting up decorations.
  • We wrapped hampers for families living in poverty.
  • We waitressed at a homeless people’s dinner and at a senior citizens party.

This is just to name a few, we also get involved with fundraising, having raised £5,500 for charities last year alone.
