Christian Aid aims to create a world where everyone can live a full life, free from poverty. But we know we can’t do it alone. Volunteers are the bedrock of Christian Aid’s sponsoring churches, and that means they’re at the heart of what we do too.
Around the world, over 60,000 volunteers generously give their time, skills and experience in so many ways.

“We aim to create a world where everyone can live a full life, free from poverty.”
Our teachers visit schools across the UK, educating and inspiring the next generation to become global neighbours. We work side-by-side with volunteers in regions across the UK and at events. Our Campaign Organisers bring together other local campaigners to take action and lobby decision-makers for lasting change.
Thousands and thousands of volunteers deliver and collect envelopes door-to-door, host Big Brekkies or find other marvellous ways to raise much-needed funds during Christian Aid Week.

Christian Aid volunteers share the same desire to want to make a difference.
Our volunteers do it because they believe in a world without poverty. They might join as an expression of their faith, to meet new people, or to develop new skills – but always because they want to make a difference.
‘I was keen to use my time on retirement to contribute to worthwhile causes. Volunteering at Christian Aid has allowed me to use my skills and experience and offered the opportunity to learn new skills,’ says Clive, Christian Aid Office Volunteer.
