We’ve all seen the horrific footage of the war in Ukraine. Families have been torn apart and driven from their homes, with millions of refugees displaced across Europe.
While you’re visiting Volunteer Expo, get a taste of the impact giving your time can have. We need your help to take part in an on-site volunteering activity by helping pack food parcels which will be distributed to Ukrainian refugees across Europe by the charity, Feed the Hungry.
This activity will take place from 11am – 2pm in the People of Action Zone on both Friday and Saturday and is included in your free show event ticket.
Whether you want to only pack one box or stay around for longer and do more, it is completely up to you.
You’ll be able to pick and pack a selection of food items, working alongside fellow volunteers on the packing line. You’ll also get the chance to sign your box with your name.
These vital food boxes will be sent out to Ukraine where it is possible, as well as to surrounding countries to aid the refugees and provide much needed provisions.
We are aiming to pack over 700 boxes which would amount to 7 tonnes of food. Each box weighs 10kg and will feed a family of four for a week, this means you’ll be helping over 700 families!
